A nearly life long resident of Northwest Arkansas, I grew up on a farm outside of Maysville, in Benton County.  I graduated from Gravette High School in 1986 and from the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville in 1992.  After being a touring musician for a few years, I attended the University of Arkansas - Leflar Law School.  I received my degree in 2001 and have been in full time practice since then.

My interest in law started as one in theory as a student in Political Science to one in practice. Through volunteer work prior to law school, I saw firsthand where there was great demand yet absence of counsel for various legal issues.. While at the UALR Bowen School of Law, I worked with other law students in the Consumer Protection and Delta (Family Litigation) Clinic. Our work in the delta regions of Arkansas showed me some of the unique challenges in counties with fewer resources, and both the need and feasibility for more affordable access to legal services.. After receiving my license, I had the opportunity to work with Kristin Riggan as an intern in 2017. I was offered an associate attorney position in August of 2018.

Kesha attended New York Law School and graduated in 2009. She interned for Fox News, The New York Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and completed a judicial externship at the New York Supreme Court commercial division. After law school she served in the United States Air Force as a JAG officer. Military service taught her leadership skills, the importance of team work, and flexibility. A JAG officer performs a variety of tasks such as drafting wills and powers of attorney, general legal assistance to veterans, and of course litigation experience. Some of her courts-martial were sexual assault cases. The result was in-depth knowledge about the military’s sexual assault response program, the victim witness advocacy program, and retaliation against victims. After her military career she was a consultant to a women owned business in Washington D.C. and helped revise and edit a sexual assault bystander intervention training to be USAF compliant.. Her civilian practice has evolved to one that is focused on helping others. Practice areas include personal injury, petitions to seal (commonly known as expungements), uncontested guardianships and adoptions. Kesha is also one of the few attorneys who does Firearm Denial Challenges with the FBI and NICS for people who are wrongfully denied a firearm. Hi! I’m Kerrigan, Arkansas native, born and raised in the small town of Calico Rock – which I affectionately refer to as “The Hills.” Unless you’re from the area, most people don’t know that Calico Rock is in North Central Arkansas. Almost all my large family (15 nieces and nephews large), still live in or near my hometown, so I visit “the Hills” regularly!. I attended and graduated from the only college I applied to – the University of Arkansas. Starting around junior high, being a lawyer was my career choice. My fate as an attorney was guaranteed once I chose my double majors of communication and Political Science, because those majors limited my choices to the law or education…. And I definitely don’t (I didn’t then and don’t now) have the patience to be a teacher.. One of the only cliché things about me is that I took a “gap year” after completing my undergraduate degree, moving home and working in the legal field to “be sure” about my law school plans. Even commuting over an hour each way that year, in my position at one of the few law firms within a 100-mile radius of home, could not dissuade me from law school (and law school loans)! That’s the kind of tenacity everyone deserves in their lawyer, and the tenacity I have in spades.. My “Street Law” experience that year – a term referring to common legal issues such as criminal defense, personal injury, family law, estate planning, and real estate – foreshadowed my landing at Lion Legal. A firm which, when you drill down to the basics, is a street law firm, founded on the basic principles of resolving everyday life issues with practicality, transparency, & efficiency. We often comment that we are lawyers, not therapists (and that’s true!); but the satisfaction I get from being able to help regular people like me get the best result possible, close that chapter and move on with their lives is maybe kind of close to the empathy required of a therapist? Sharing that feeling of accomplishment and conclusion with our clients never gets old.. My time is mostly spent in the Civil and Probate Divisions at Lion Legal, but my negotiation and creative problem solving skills translate to all Lion Legal practice areas.
