He earned a Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in English Literature and in History, at the St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1997. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is the former Chair of the Colorado Bar Association's Immigration Law Section. James has been a speaker for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs through both AILA and the Colorado Bar Association and has trained volunteers to assist noncitizens through a variety of workshops and other legal assistance programs..
