Jim Makowski graduated from the University of Michigan - Dearborn in 1995 with an A.B. in Political Science. Jim continues his education at the University of Detroit - Mercy Law and graduated with a J.D. in 1999. In the past, Mr. Makowski practiced as a real estate litigator with some of the largest real estate law firms in the country. Jim received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 1968 from Kettering University, (formerly General Motors Institute) in Flint Michigan. While at GMI, he was a member and officer of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and served on the Student Government Council. He received a Juris Doctor in 1973 from Michigan State University Law School (formerly Detroit College of Law).. Jim has maintained a solo practice in Southeast Michigan since 1975. His practice is devoted to Estate Planning, Probate and Elder Law. He is a member of the Probate and Estate Planning, Elder Law and Master Lawyer Sections of the Michigan State Bar.
