Chuck Slane of TSR Injury Law. HELPING INJURED PEOPLE.. has a reputation for being one of the best personal injury litigators in Minnesota. He has handled numerous jury trials, and has obtained many six and seven figure verdicts for his clients. He has trial experience in many different types of personal injury claims, including automobile accidents, premises liability, dram shop, wrongful death, and insurance coverage cases.. It is Chuck’s belief that his greatest attribute as a lawyer is his ability to listen to and spend time with his clients. The only way that a lawyer can do a good job of representing a client in the courtroom is to truly know them and understand what they have gone through. It is that experience that allows the story to be properly told so that it will be understood.. The following are just a few of his success stories:. Chuck went to law school at William Mitchell College of Law. He graduated with honors in 1996. He then began his practice at the firm of Meshbesher, Birrell & Dunlap. He is now a partner at the firm TSR Injury Law, where he is the head of the litigation department.. Chuck has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by his peers, and was in the top 100 in the vote count. In addition, he was named to the 2009 Who’s Who Top 40 Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury Attorneys in Minnesota and the Minnesota State Bar Association has honored Chuck with the Minnesota Award for Professional Excellence for his pro bono work on the 35W Bridge Collapse Consortium.. Chuck is on the Board of Governors for the Minnesota Association for Justice (MAJ) and is a frequent lecturer on topics regarding litigation in the personal injury arena, including a recent speaking engagement for MAJ where he spoke on “Why and When to Arbitrate, or Not.”. Chuck is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also has practiced in other jurisdictions, including Nebraska and Texas by working with co-counsel in those jurisdictions. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Advocate and has been certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the Minnesota State Bar Association.. Charles Shafer assists clients in matters involving general civil litigation, with an emphasis on employment and contract disputes. He is skilled in deconstructing complex legal and technical issues for lay audiences. He is also a volunteer attorney for the Tubman Safety Project.. Charles Shafer was inspired to become an attorney (which he insists had nothing to do with the unemployability of an English major) to use the law to help his clients navigate complex issues.

I represent franchisors large and small. (Sorry, but neither I nor my firm represent franchisees.) I bring both business and legal experience to my franchisor clients. And over 40 years in franchising and fanchise law have taught me there is no substitute for experience. That experience is particularly helpful to entrepreneurs looking to franhcise their business as I have watched and worked with franchise systems in almost every industry and understand the challenges they face - especially when they start out on the worng foot or with weak initial advice.. My clients include franchisors in every stage of their development, and i have worked with them in all areas of their development, including the decision to franchise, preparation and registration of franchise documents, management of franchise relationships, negotiation of supplier and joint venture agreements, and termination of franchise relationships. I have worked with companies ranging in size from startup systems to international franchise systems with thousands of franchisees. I am active in the International Franchise Association, which allows me to keep a pulse on the business side of franchising, as well as the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, the preeminent association of lawyers involved in franchising.. I am also a certified commercial arbitrator, handling cases involving disputes between franchisors and franchisees, which gives me a unique insight into how courts and arbitration tribunals view disputes. I have also been involved in several dozen mediations, in some cases as the mediator, and in others as the lawyer for the franchisor. I have also been sought out as an expert witness in franchise cases, addressing not only legal issues, but also the custom and practice of franchisors.

Firm: Ramsay Law Firm, PLLC
2780 Snelling Ave N #330 , Roseville , Minnesota 55113
Practice Areas: DUI & DWI
Charles Ramsay is Minnesota's ONLY Board Certified DWI lawyer (recognized by the American Bar Association, not the MN Bar Association), and is also Board Certified in Criminal Defense by the Minnesota Bar Association. He practices primarily in the area of criminal defense, DWI and civil forfeitures. He has obtained acquittals in nearly every type of case from DWI to murder. He prides himself on being on the cutting edge of criminal defense. He helped pioneer a number of defenses in Minnesota, including faulty eyewitness identification, false confessions and the right of a defendant to present alternative suspects to a jury. In 2006, Ramsay testified in Court about the shortcomings of breath testing devices such as the Intoxilyzer 5000.. Ramsay has created new DWI defense strategies and is making massive changes in Minnesota DUI Law. A few examples are Urine Testing, Blood Testing, The Implied Consent Law. He also has successfully challenged both the administration of tests, as well as the source code behind The Intoxilyzer 5000, the breath test machine used in Minnesota. Forty-Five years of established Minnesota DWI is in the process of dramatic change...change that can mean new opportunities for your defense!. *DWI Law Dead? -- Is the Minnesota Implied Consent Law Dead? His Appellate Victories and Supreme Court Cases!*Blood -- Using Constitutional Right of Confrontation to Beat Blood Alcohol Testing to Win! *Urine -- Judge Agrees: All Urine Test Results "Absurd"; Will Minnesota Urine Testing Finally Flushed Forever?*Breath -- Ramsay Exposes Lack of Required Minimum Maintenance; Are All Intoxilyzer Results Inadmissible?*Source Code -- He's Intervening in the Federal Law Suit vs. Intoxilyzer Manufacturer; while trial court judges have dismissed hundreds of breath test cases .... An effective appellate lawyer, Chuck successfully litigated Genin v. 1996 Mercury Marquis before the Minnesota Supreme Court, which ruled that vehicle owners need not pay storage fees when they win their forfeiture case.. In 2004 he prevailed before the Court of Appeals in State v. Bergh. This case limits prosecutors' ability to use prior convictions and license revocations to enhance subsequent charges. In yet another case that year, Chuck represented the appellant in State v. Blom, before the Minnesota Supreme Court.. In other notable appellate victories, the Minnesota Court of Appeals held that a police officer may not stop a driver merely for swerving in his own lane of traffic in State v. Hugger, which he argued all the way to the Supreme Court. In State v. Bergerson, the appellate court recognized police officers may not purge the taint of an illegal stop of a motor vehicle when the driver attempts to flee.. Ramsay prevailed in State v. Sickmann, where he convinced the Minnesota Court of Appeals to grant Sickmann a new trial. The court agreed with Ramsay that the law which permitted blood tests to be admitted was unconstitutional as it violated the confrontation clause.. Most recently, the court of appeals agreed the DWI test refusal law is unconstitutional. Unfortunately, the state appealed the case of State v. Netland and the Supreme Court reversed the lower appellate court's decision.. See what issues he is pioneering today:
