A word about fees:  The fee you pay and the way you pay it, depends on the type of case you have.  Fees among attorneys vary depending on their office location, the number of years in practice and the skill of the attorney.  Typically, you get what you pay for.. For Social Security Disability Claims, we do not charge a fee for the initial consultation.  In claims for benefits, fees for a Social Security Disability claim are typically 25% of the past-due benefits, with a cap of $ 6,.  In most cases for benefits, we do not charge a fee unless we win your case.   We will not charge a fee unless you know what the fee is going to be and agree in writing beforehand.. For Probate Cases usually the most valuable service we offer is the initial consultation.  We charge a flat fee of $ for the initial, half hour consultation.  If the consultation lasts significantly longer than one hour, the additional time may be charged at $ per hour.  During the initial consultation, I will not only answer your questions, but also give you information about the process, and what to expect emotionally, financially, and legally, throughout your legal proceedings.  I will also try and help you determine whether your problem can be solved outside of court.  It is also a time for you to meet my staff and other attorneys in our office who will work with me to assist you throughout the attorney/client relationship.. I May Not Be The Only Lawyer in Our Firm.  From time to time I have associated my practice with other honorable and qualified attorneys. So when you come to my office you may meet other lawyer in out office.. John Ballard

Firm: Ballard Law
1224-B Columbia Avenue , Franklin , Tennessee 37064
Practice Areas: Lawsuits & Disputes
John Ballard is a third generation attorney following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Jack Butler, and his father before him, General Howard Butler. Born and raised in Williamson County, John has spent his life in Middle Tennessee. Upon graduating with a Philosophy degree from Samford University he enrolled in Nashville School of Law where he went to school at night while working at his grandfather's law practice during the day. After learning the law from one of Nashville's legendary attorneys John spent two years as Judge Seth Norman's court officer in Davidson County Criminal Court Division IV. Working for Judge Norman gave John a unique opportunity to get to know attorneys as well as criminal defendants before graduating Law School in 2014, wherein he was awarded the Moot Court Award.. John began his law practice at 1308 Rosa Parks Blvd with over a dozen of Nashville's best criminal defense attorneys. While developing a criminal defense practice, John learned that there was a need for a robust law practice that could serve many different legal needs of the community. It may be a dispute regarding insurance, government, or regulations, and knowing the right people and how to navigate seemingly complex issues is important.. While working to find a solution without litigation is important, sometimes the only way to resolve an issue is to let the judge decide. John has spent most of his career in court arguing and winning cases in front of judges and juries on a myriad of issues. His background means that he is familiar with not only the courts but the judges, attorneys, and court staff as well. He is comfortable in the courtroom litigating complex issues because he comes prepared and outworks the other side.. John has recently moved his main office to Franklin, Tennessee and brings with him the experience, knowledge, and reputation from Nashville, but also as a native to Williamson County.

In my immigration work, I work with individual immigrants and their families to determine the best way to help, then guide them through the complicated immigration process. I help clients getting permanent residence through employment. I work on family-based immigration and humanitarian cases, such as U visas, waivers, deferred action for childhood arrivals, and special paths to citizenship. I have helped young men and women get DACA and helped undocumented parents of U.S. children be able to stay in the U.S. I also volunteer at the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC), helping immigrants get U.S. citizenship.. One of my primary focuses has been on asylum cases for individuals who are at great risk of being severely harmed and killed if they are deported or removed to their home country.  Some of my clients have been detained by ICE and need help getting bond before applying for relief. Whatever the situation, I look for the best possible solution that fits that specific client's circumstance.. I also do civil rights and appellate work. Given my background drafting memos and opinions for a judge on the Federal Court of Appeals, I know a lot about class actions, constitutional rights, due process, administrative law, and more. My philosophy in life and as an attorney is to treat people how I would want to be treated.  As an attorney, a full-time mom and someone who has personally experienced the hardship and stress of being a litigant in a domestic proceeding, I know how overwhelming it can be, especially when also trying to balance work and family obligations. I also understand that my clients expect and deserve an attorney who is responsive to their questions and will work hard to insure that the things and people they hold most dear are protected.
