I was let go from my job recently, and the reason I was given at the time didn’t match what they later tried to claim. When it happened, I was told over the phone that it was because of my pregnancy. Later, they tried to change the story and say it was because I was “absent too much,” even though I had been communicating with my supervisor about everything and wasn’t given any warnings or write-ups. During my unemployment interview, the person reviewing my case pulled up a message I had sent to my team lead about needing to leave unexpectedly one day. She made comments about grief and said I “wouldn’t have been able to work anyway,” which felt strange because she doesn’t know anything about how I handle grief or what was actually going on. I kept telling her that wasn’t the reason I applied — I applied because I was fired, and the reason I was given was pregnancy-related. I also found out I’m not the only one this employer has done something like this to. The person who had my job before me was fired the same day she called in to let them know a close family member passed away. There were other people who were let go around the same time for reasons that didn’t make much sense. It feels like anyone going through something difficult or vulnerable gets pushed out. A debt collector sent a letter trying to collect 15 year old mortgage debt, (last payment was in 2007 but balance due was 2011). It was sent to my grandfather that started the mortgage, but he's now deceased and my dad owns the property now. They want money in full or a letter disputing some or all by 8/13, or "they assume everything is correct." What letter do I send them without reactivating the statue of limitations? Location: Idaho I won a case this year against a prior employer (workplace was an LLC until they failed to file their LLC paperwork in 2023, after that point are sole proprietorship or permanently closed. I was hired after the point they lost LLC status in 2023, and the lawsuit started in 2025 and ended in Feb 2026. They maintained normal business operations until March 2026) for unpaid wages (+treble damages). They showed up for the small claims case and struggled to try to argue their total innocence in small claims court. After much perjury and harassment against my person both in and out of the court room, I moved it to magistrate level and won a default judgement, they closed the business front/office, but are still running the business from their home in a limited capacity. Their business phone line still rings and has the voicemail message for the business but the website no longer works. People on Linkedin, including the owner of the business, are still listed as current employees. I have: The account number/name of her business bank from old paychecks, business owner's home address, her home phone number, the name of her kids school because she forced me to babysit her kids for free to get my paycheck a couple times, the business NPI (mental healthcare), exboss's personal NPI (peer support). Location: Idaho 1st question: So there’s a few kids involved, I have the kids most of the time. Partner and I have been living separately for four years now but technically still legally married. (Stupid I know) Their babysitter informed me that they had made a report to CPS due to actions (or lack there of) from the other parent. They are a drug user as well, mainly weed/dabs, I think they drink as well. ——I’m going to be filing for divorce and I think I might apply for full custody. I do want full custody but is that something that’s even a possibility? If not, should I still apply for full custody and hope to get majority custody? I’m not sure how this works and I apologize. But my question is what are my chances here and is just applying for full custody the right move? CPS has made contact with me and I’ve been providing them with everything that I can. She had a live-in boyfriend who was the only adult present at the time of her death. Since her passing, her boyfriend has refused to leave her home and done a series of horrible things, some of which are felony crimes. He already was in Wake County prison for felony fraud less than a decade ago. Here's a list of what I have so far: He stole her wallet. He wanted me to believe that it mysteriously disappeared after her death. When a police officer did a welfare check at my request 5 days after she died, the officer inquired about my mom's wallet. The boyfriend said that he didn't know where it was, and that she would usually hide it from him. He made 45 purchases on her debit card after her death, a combination of online and local stores and Cashapp transfers totaling just under $2,000. The purchases made in the weeks after her death look identical to the ones made before. I suspect that he stole the debit card from the mailbox a long time ago and my mother had no idea he even had it. The amount of spending on it even the month before her death was insane.
