Location: Louisiana It's hotter than hell out there right now. I live in an apartment complex in a loft unit. My A/C unit in my apartment has never kept up with this heat. When it was in the low 80s, my A/C kept to 74 just fine. When it was in the upper 80s, it struggled a bit, but never got over 78. Now that it's in the 90s+ with heat indexes over 100, my unit does not want to go below 80. At night. I already put in a maintenance request on the 20th, which went ignored until my cats started showing heat exhaustion. When that happened, I marched into the office on the 23rd and fussed at two different staff members. Building maintenance followed up and "fixed" it. They kept trying to sell me the lie of the "heat wave" is the issue. It is not. I'm not an idiot and if the A/C unit were the correct size for the square footage, I wouldn't be here right now. Anyway, the A/C caught back up to 75 that night. I have kept the thermostat at 75 since due to the A/C constantly running because during the day, it's never below 80. At the peak of today, it was 84. It's still 80 in the apartment as I'm writing this at 12:04 AM. Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Hi everyone, hoping you can help me figure out if I have a decent small claims case. What happened was, I called a repair shop which has one guy who's the owner. I asked if he could repair my Samsung Galaxy Fold 7's front screen issue, he said yes. When I brought the phone in for repair, the front screen was working/lighting up, it just had a big gash in it where my recliner chair had pressed a crack into it. He said it would take him 1 to 1.5 hours. I paid half the cost of the repair up front and wasn't shown any contract or anything to sign. When I checked my email when I got home, I had a contract with fine print that I didn't sign that waived him of liability if he damages the phone further. The contract was not signed by me, and it was sent at the same time as my receipt. There was no verbal agreement besides him saying he could fix the phone. I returned 2 hours later and the phone was not fixed. He gave it back to me with the original screen on, and the original screen was no longer working. Hello. I am legit looking for clear advice on what to do for myself. Husband of 23 years just made me sign paper work to separate our bank accounts. I have not worked (stay at home mom) of 15 years. He makes 110k, plus retirement, plus disability. He makes right around 10k a month. He said I am on my own now making 2400 a month, whoch isnt enough for a car, insurance, medical, rent at a new place, utilities, food and gas. How do I handle this properly? I want to be civil. I am not a golddigger. Neber have been bit I cant survive on my own at this point. Do I take him to court? Do I leave him and stay with a family member? What about custody of our 14 year old?
