Before I begin to tell you about my academic awards and achievements, I want to take a moment to tell you that I've stood in your shoes.  I truly appreciate how intimidating the legal process can be to clients who are fighting to protect their interests, and those of their children.  As a witness to domestic violence and the child of a broken home, I know all too well the emotional and physical journey to create a new vision for your life.. I was drawn into Family law because of my own personal circumstances. My three month old nephew was placed up for adoption without my brother's consent.  He was placed with a family in Canada before we even knew he was missing.  My entire family was devastated and didn't have a clue about what to do next.  As the only attorney in the family, everyone looked to me for answers.  I had never touched a family law case before except for a clinic in law school.  This time, there was so much at stake.  Needless to say, I was scared to lose him and knew I had to do whatever I could.  I started in Family Court in NY and worked my way to Canada to pick him up almost three months later!  Although, it was probably the scariest thing I have every done, it was by far the most rewarding.  This helped me realize that my potential is so much greater than my fears.  Every time I look at my nephew, I am reminded at how blessed I am to have been able to earn a law degree to help others.. This personal story of triumph is what fuels my passion to be a compassionate legal advocate. One who strives for a holistic solution to the situation, rather than just a legal one.. Before starting my own firm in 2009, I served as a prosecutor in Pennsylvania and a law guardian (children’s attorney) in New Jersey. I am admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The first in my family to complete college, I am a proud graduate of Columbia University and Temple Law School.. As the founder of a thriving law practice, a wife, and a mother of two wonderful children, I know the importance my own wellbeing plays in having a healthy family and successful business.  I am certified in Reiki and practice Bikram (Hot) Yoga.

Laura K. Gasiorowski, Esq., who has been practicing criminal defense law since 1994, joined the Stahl Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2005, and has concentrated her career on complex pre-trial, trial and appellate matters in a wide variety of state and federal criminal matters, including mail fraud, money laundering, gambling, narcotics violations, murder, and RICO.. Most notably, Ms. Gasiorowski represented one of the two capital defendants who avoided an execution sentence in the federal death penalty trial of individuals involved in the bombings of American Embassies in Tanzania and Nairobi, Africa.. Ms. Gasiorowski also served as lead counsel in the sentencing phase of the State of Louisiana v. Leonard Williams death penalty murder trial, coordinating, preparing and presenting the defense's mitigation case.  In the Williams case as well, the defendant was spared execution and received a life sentence.  In addition to her criminal practice, Ms. Gasiorowski has also represented police officers in civil service hearings related to employment matters, and in civil rights and equal protection litigation in the federal court as counsel for PANO, the Police Association of New Orleans.. Ms. Gasiorowski has specialized experience in pretrial motion work, sentencing matters, and appellate brief writing.  Among her reported cases are Jenkins v. Artuz, 294 F.3d 284 (2nd Cir. 2002), in which the court order a new trial based on evidence of prosecutorial misconduct in examining a state witness; and State v. Bishop, 686 So.2d 1053, 96-694 (La.App 5 Cir. 1996), in which the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Louisiana agreed that application of sexual offender notification laws prohibited constituted ex post facto punishment and therefore was prohibited.. Other significant published cases decided in Ms. Gasiorowski’s clients' favor include the first case in which a United States federal district court held that foreign subjects interrogated abroad by American law enforcement are entitled to Fifth Amendment protections, and a case in which the district court struck several aggravating factors from death penalty notice.Ms. Gasiorowski is admitted to the state bars in New York, New Jersey, and Louisiana.  She is also admitted to the United States District Court, District of New Jersey; the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and United States District Court, Southern District of New York, and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.

Fratto, a criminal law judge in Camden County, New Jersey. From there I worked for a prominent civil litigation defense firm until I found my calling as a Camden County Prosecutor.            Working for then prosecutor Lee Solomon, I developed my negotiation and litigation skills as well as an ability to work with people from many different backgrounds. After six years at the prosecutor's office, I was hired to work as a Deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Bureau. Here I gained experience in the legal aspects of the investigative stages of a criminal prosecution and dealing with the real life criminal underworld.
