Growing up in a small English country village, he was an active member of the parish church, as both a choir boy and bell ringer, and also a keen cricketer and student. Haslam moved to Connecticut in 1991, where he lived for 2 years, and acclimated to life in the United States. In 1993, he moved to Lynnwood, WA, and attended Meadowdale High School for the three years, as well as Edmonds Community College through the State’s Running Start program. Following graduation in 1996, he entered college at the age of 17 at the University of Washington.. After completing his Bachelor's Degree, Benjamin Haslam worked for both the City of Seattle, and a downtown Seattle law firm, before deciding to enter the practice of law. Then 23, he attended Santa Clara University’s School of Law. He was selected as an editor for the School’s prestigious Law Review, and also shined in several moot court competitions. Following graduation and admission to the Washington State Bar in 2005, he served for two-years as law clerk for the Hon. James H. Allendoerfer of the Snohomish County Superior Court.
