At Trunkenbolz | Rohr PLLC, we look forward to working with you. There is never any cost for an initial consultation.. ProbateProbate is the process through which assets and property are gathered and distributed to a person’s beneficiaries after his or her death. Probate is not required in all cases in Washington, regardless of whether the person who died had a will. Probate is typically filed in cases in which the deceased person was the sole owner of real estate or had a significant amount of personal property. The administrator, who is either assigned by the court or designated through the deceased person’s will, will gather the deceased person’s assets, pay any outstanding debts, and distribute any remaining assets. It is important for anyone who may be a beneficiary of a deceased person’s estate to consult a skilled attorney to explain the probate process and how it can affect his or her rights.. Real EstateDeciding to buy or sell real estate is one of the most important decisions that a person can make, and it is vital for anyone entering into a real estate transaction to consult an experienced attorney to help prevent issues from arising during or after the sale. There are numerous problems that can arise during a real estate transaction, such as disputes over boundaries, disagreements over contractual terms, and questions regarding the validity of prior transfers of title. If you are considering buying, selling, or leasing property, a real estate attorney can assist you in drafting any necessary contracts and addressing any issues regarding the transfer of the property.. Estate Planning. Estate planning is a broad term used to describe arranging for how your estate will be distributed in the event of your death. Wills are typically used to set forth how a person’s property should be disbursed, but in some cases, it may be more appropriate for a person to create a trust to protect his or her assets. Additionally, people can engage in estate planning to set forth their wishes as to the care that they will receive in the future and whether anyone is granted the right to make decisions on their behalf. A knowledgeable estate planning attorney in the Spokane area can advise you on the benefits of each estate planning option and help you select the alternative that best addresses your needs.

Patrick Cook

Firm: The Walthew Law Firm
2917 Pacific Ave Suite 105 , Everett , Washington 98201
Practice Areas: Workers Compensation
I am a trial lawyer with extensive litigation experience. I am a lifelong Washington resident and a member of the King, Snohomish and Washington State Bar Associations.. I received my B.A. from the University of Washington and my Law Degree from Seattle University Law School. While in college, I worked in a law office as a paralegal. During law school, I worked as both a bailiff and law clerk in King County Superior Court and in United States District Court, spending a lot of time in the courtroom learning from both good and bad lawyers. After passing the bar, I served as a Deputy Prosecutor in King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. While there, I honed my trial and negotiation skills. I also learned to manage complex, difficult cases.. I joined The Walthew Law Firm in March of 2007 and have been a partner since 2015. Since joining The Walthew Law Firm, I have focused my practice on only representing injured and disabled workers in Washington State's Workers' Compensation system and in personal injury cases. Our office has been providing legal counsel to injured people for over 80 years. All of the attorneys at The Walthew Law Firm exclusively represent people who have been injured or are disabled. We do not represent employers or insurance companies.. I have litigated and settled countless claims at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and in Superior Court. In my 20 years of practice I have tried over 80 jury trials.. If you are in need of legal advice regarding how to deal with an insurance company, a self-insured employer, or the Department of Labor and Industries, please do not hesitate to give me a call. I am happy to talk to you to see if we can help you with your case.

Patrick Cantor

Firm: Buttar & Cantor, LLP, Attorneys at Law
16600 W Valley Hwy Ste 106 , Tukwila , Washington 98188
Practice Areas: Immigration
I am the third of four children born to Sesinando (from Burgos, Pangasinan, Philippines) and Lourdes (from Aparri, Cagayan, Philippines) of Renton, Washington and St. Anthony Parish. I attended preschool in Quezon City.  We then immigrated to the U.S. in 1974 and lived in the Rainier Valley in Seattle for several years before moving permanently to Renton.  My father worked during the day as an accountant, while my mother worked at night as an registered nurse, while the four kids tried to stay away from trouble at school. Eventually, all the children finished school with accounting degrees, but the third one couldn't cut it as an accountant.  One day, I learned that my father was a corporate lawyer in the Philippines, and that my mother was able to obtain a work visa as a nurse to come to the United States.  She filled out the work visa application on her own. So it was my destiny to become an immigration lawyer, to help others, and I love what I do.

A good legal representation of all accused of crimes is vital for our system to work. When criminal charges are brought all the power of the state is aimed at the accused. Many of my clients have limited educations, are mentally ill, or have suffered abusive relationships. Our current priorities as a society result in putting these people in jail, rather than providing help. Pat Donahue

Firm: Donahue Law
901 N. Adams , Spokane , Washington 99201
Practice Areas: Drug Crime
I am originally from Keene, New Hampshire- the ‘Live Free or Die State.’. I moved to Spokane in 2011 and we immediately fell in love with Eastern Washington and I am proud to call Spokane myhome.. I am an avid outdoorsman, and enjoy taking full advantage of all the Inland Northwest has to offer. When I am not in the office, I will most likely be found rock climbing, listening to live music, or skiing in the mountains. I find that spending as much time as possible in nature helps me stay sharp in the office and in the courtroom. A close friend of mine once described her time in the woods as an opportunity to ‘iron out’ her mind- I couldn’t agree more.. Outside of the classrooms of Gonzaga, my legal career began during the late summer and fall of 2013. During that time, I practiced as Rule 9 Licensed Legal Intern under the Spokane County Public Defender's Office. As a licensed intern, I represented clients in Spokane County's Drug Court. Spokane County's drug court was one of the first drug courts in the county. I truly loved my time with this program and remain inspired by the help drug courts afford suffering individuals.. In September of 2013, I was selected to spend a month at Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College as an intern. While interning at TLC, I was afforded the opportunity to study trial law with some of the nation’s top trial lawyers. It was an unforgettable experience that taught me more about courtroom advocacy than I could have ever learned elsewhere.. In the winter and spring of 2013-2014, I carried a full misdemeanor caseload for the Spokane County Public Defenders. I thoroughly enjoyed fighting for those unable to afford private representation in the trenches of our legal system.. I sat for the bar exam in Washington State in the Summer of 2014 and was admitted to the Washington State Bar that September. Unfortunately, at that time the County Public Defender's office was not hiring. Fortunately, I was able to find work with a small Spokane law firm representing injured people against insurance companies.. Eager to get back to full time criminal defense work, In early 2016 I followed my passion for defense work and set out on my own by founding Donahue Law.. In the summer of 2016 I returned to the Trial Lawyers College for their Graduate Program. This program was an intensive two week course that allowed me to hone my skills and help me prepare to defend Ms. Donna Perry. Ms. Perry was charged with three counts of premeditated murder. A mentor and I took Ms. Perry's case to jury trial in the summer of 2017.. In 2018 I was awarded the Judy Clarke Scholarship to Attend the National Criminal Defense College’s 2 week program in Georgia. This program significantly strengthened my skills as a litigator by helping me build on the trial tools I had developed both in and out of the courtroom.. Beginning in late 2019, I became an outspoken advocate for the legalization/decriminalization of psychedelics and began volunteering for state and local political movements. While my anti-drug war roots run deep, my willingness to come out of the psychedelic closet in a more public way was motivated by my lived experiences as well as my long standing belief in the therapeutic value of molecules such as psilocybin, MDMA, LSD, DMT, and mescaline.. In early 2021, I became one of the initial members of the Psychedelic Bar Association (PBA). The PBA is an association of accomplished attorneys dedicated to solving the novel legal and policy issues impacting the emerging psychedelics sector. I am a proud member of the PBA with the bulk of my time there spent sitting on the PBA’s Legalization and Regulation Committee.. On April 19, 2022 I founded Terrapin Legal. Terrapin Legal is a Spokane based law firm and only represents clients in the emerging legal psychedelic ecosystem. As Buckministe Fuller is credited with saying- "You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”.
