SHARRY SANDLER (LSBA No. 29669) is a member of all Louisiana State and Federal Courts. Ms. Sandler moved to New Orleans in 1996 to go to Tulane University, where she received her BA in Psychology and English. Thereafter, she received her Juris Doctorate at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, where she went to law school at night while working as both a legal secretary and paralegal. This experience taught her to look at both sides of the desk when meeting with clients, and to try to be more hands on with her work. After law school, Ms. Sandler sought an MBA at the University of New Orleans, while recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and living in a FEMA trailer with her new husband. Eventually rebuilding as so many of US did, she started The Law Office of Sharry I. Sandler in 2009, right before the birth of her first child. As an entrepreneur, Sharry has always worked to emphasize the importance of family and work life balance, and she remains active in her community, offering volunteer assistance for individuals with special needs, underrepresented people and religious minorities. She also is an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, NAML, and the Louisiana and New Orleans Bar Associations. Now the mother of three children, ten years after opening her own practice, she has joined forces with Marc Michaud to form SANDLER MICHAUD, L.L.C., New Orleans Consumer Lawyers, and she looks forward to continuing her work with a larger part of the Greater New Orleans and Louisiana communities.

Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
I currently handle both personal injury and criminal defense cases. If you have a need for your family, in any area of law, please call me! As an experienced attorney, the greatest gifts I can provide your family are my legal knowledge and the confidence you will have knowing that I care about your family. A lawyer's role is to provide help without judging, and in me, I hope you will find an open heart for you when the world seems to collapse on you to go with a keen mind which will enable us to find a solution for you in the darkest of moments.. I began my legal career in 2000 after graduating from Tulane Law School. I worked at three different law firms and concentrated in diverse civil law arenas. After beginning a family and blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Catherine and Caroline, I focused my life on raising them as a stay-at-home mom. Now that the girls are beginning to grow up and are performing well at St. George Catholic School, I have been able to renew my legal career at Manasseh, Gill, Knipe & Belanger.

Firm: The Brown Law Firm, LLC
2285 Benton Road , Bossier City , Louisiana 71111
Practice Areas: Litigation
A native of the Shreveport-Bossier area, Shannon is a seasoned attorney with a business foundation who has practiced in both the private sector and government sector. She has represented clients and appeared before various state courts in Louisiana and Texas, and also spent several years practicing in federal courts as an Assistant United States Attorney.. Shannon has a business degree from Louisiana State University and a law degree from Tulane University, where she was the business editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and obtained a certificate specializing in maritime law. Shannon practiced for several years for a large defense litigation firm out of New Orleans, before she moved with her husband to Houston, Texas. During her time in Houston, Shannon practiced for a small, boutique firm, representing physician practices and small business owners in all of their legal needs, including compliance and regulatory matters and civil litigation and contracts disputes. During her time at this boutique firm, Shannon gained valuable experience in shareholder oppression and closely held company litigation, including member buy-outs and valuation disputes.. After Shannon returned home to Louisiana with her family, she accepted a position as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Civil Division of the Western District of Louisiana (which includes the cities of Shreveport, Monroe, Alexandria, Lafayette and Lake Charles and surrounding parishes) where she was the Coordinator of both the Financial Litigation Unit and the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit. In the Financial Litigation Unit, Shannon handled all criminal and civil collection cases in the District, including the civil asset forfeiture matters. Shannon also assisted in many complex criminal asset forfeiture matters and other white collar criminal matters, and handled matters requiring civil fraud injunctions. Shannon’s time in the financial litigation unit resulted in a significant increase in collections for the Western District, with approximately $20,000,000 collected during her time at the USAO. Shannon was subsequently named the Coordinator for the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit, where she oversaw all civil enforcement actions focusing on healthcare fraud under the False Claims Act and civil drug diversion under the Controlled Substances Act. Shannon lead civil investigations into healthcare fraud schemes by physicians, clinics, home health agencies, counseling centers, and hospitals. She also prosecuted civil penalties cases against physicians, retail pharmacies, and pharmaceutical distributors, and frequently consulted with other lead drug diversion prosecutors across the nation, as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Orleans Field Division and Chief Counsel’s Office, and the Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section of the Department of Justice Criminal Division in pursuing the DOJ’s initiative in combatting the on-going opioid crisis.. Shannon left the United States’ Attorney’s Office to join her husband and law partner in private practice at the Brown Law Firm. Shannon’s broad practice experience in both the private sector and at the United States Attorney’s office has given her ample experience in healthcare and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance and government investigations, as well as asset protection and management for business owners and individuals. Shannon is well versed in state property laws in both Louisiana and Texas, and is able to fully assist clients in estate planning and trusts, business and individual liability protection, and judgment execution.. Shannon is actively licensed to practice law in both Louisiana and Texas and is admitted to all federal and state courts in Louisiana, as well as the state courts of Texas, the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.

I was born and raised in Lafayette. I am blessed with a beautiful and supportive wife, Sarah, and two inspiring and wonderful young children. We enjoy boating, water skiing, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. We are active members of Asbury United Methodist Church, where Sarah and I are fortunate to teach Sunday school and mentor young children.. I graduated from Acadiana High School in 1982, from University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1986, and from Louisiana State University Law School in 1990. After law school, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I worked for the Texas Railroad Commission, enforcing violations of oil, gas, and transportation regulations. The best part of that job was I met Sarah there in 1992.. In 1993, I left the Railroad Commission to do what I felt I was meant to do as a lawyer – represent real people instead of corporate or governmental interests. I spent a large part of my time representing persons injured or killed as a result of medical malpractice, and learned that ability from a remarkably intelligent and capable physician/lawyer.. I returned to Lafayette in 2000, and opened my own law practice dedicated to representing persons injured in cases of medical malpractice, 18-wheeler wrecks, car wrecks, industrial and boat accidents, and legal and other professional malpractice, as well as claims involving breach of contract, consumer fraud, and wrongful denial of insurance benefits.. I am active with Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers, a project coordinated by the Lafayette Parish Bar Association. I am especially proud of this work, as I assist women who are unable to hire a lawyer obtain protective orders against their abusers.. I attended and graduated Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College as one of only 110 graduates from around the nation that year, and remain active in post graduate seminars and learning at TLC.. I am a member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Louisiana State Bar, Texas State Bar, Lafayette Parish Bar Association, and am admitted to practice in multiple federal courts throughout Louisiana and Texas.
