Choosing an attorney is little different than choosing a doctor, accountant, mechanic, or any other professional that can turn out to be a blessing or a burden. Try to take time to interview a couple different attorneys before making a decision. Ask people you know, read advertisements, and use whatever information you can get. In the end it will be how well you communicate with the attorney that will make a huge difference. It is also important that the person you choose is capable to achieve your goals - you may not know if your attorney can do this until it is too late. Unfortunately, none of the statistics on this website (length of time in practice, publications, solicited testimonials, etc) can really determine competency of your attorney.
