Allyson concurrently earned Bachelor degrees in Broadcast Journalism and News Editorial from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2010. From there, she relocated to the State of Oklahoma where she attended the University of Oklahoma College of Law.  During her time at Oklahoma, Allyson was a Dean’s Leadership Fellow and a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll. She participated in several moot court competitions across the country and won a Top Speaker Award at the Calvert Moot Court Competition.. Community involvement has always been incredibly important to Allyson. Allyson has participated in several half marathons and other runs benefitting many deserving organizations. Allison Mahaney grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. After graduation, Allison went to work on the NOAA Ship Fairweather based out of Ketchikan, Alaska. On board the Fairweather, Allison served as an Officer of the Deck and managed hydrographic surveys to support the vessel’s nautical charting mission. At the end of her scheduled tour, Allison transferred to Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary where she served as Operations Coordinator from 2007 to 2010. While at the sanctuary, Allison enjoyed working on Washington's outer coast onboard the R/V Tatoosh. During their time in Port Angeles, she and her family loved life on the Olympic Peninsula and always hoped to return. After leaving NOAA, Allison attended law school at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. During her time there, Allison worked as an intern at the Port of Portland and the Eighth Coast Guard District Legal Office in New Orleans, Louisiana.
