Firm: Fitzpatrick, Skemp & Butler, LLC
1123 Riders Club Rd , Onalaska , Wisconsin 54650
Practice Areas: Workers Compensation, Car Accident, Slip and Fall, Personal Injury, Dog Bite
I graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2010. After graduating law school, I immediately began working as a trial lawyer. Within my first year of practice, I won two jury trials – with verdicts totaling well over $100,000. I continue to work in civil litigation in the La Crosse Area.. After moving from Milwaukee to La Crosse, I worked as the La Crosse County Circuit Court Law Clerk and Small Claims Mediator and then went back into civil litigation working at Fitzpatrick, Skemp and Associates. I primarily practice in the areas of personal injury, premise liability, and worker’s compensation. I am always looking for additional ways to maximize his clients’ settlements and take as much time as I need to listen to my clients and answer their questions.. In addition to serving my clients at his firm, I am also active within the legal community. I am an active member of Wisconsin Association for Justice and the La Crosse County Bar Association. And haves given numerous presentations at conferences to share information with my colleagues. I also volunteer my legal skills to New Horizons Shelter and Outreach Center (organization that serves individuals and families who are experiencing domestic violence) and Legal Action of La Crosse.. Outside of the legal community, I shelter foster dogs by serving as a foster home for dogs through Playing Again Sams, a Wisconsin dog rescue. I also serves his community by sitting on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Alumni Association Board of Directors, volunteering with La Crosse Rotary East, and serving as a board member for Delta Sigma Phi Alumni Cooperation Board.

Practice Areas: Construction , Corporate , Environmental , Insurance , Toxic Substances, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development, Construction & Development
Scott is a shareholder attorney and the founding attorney Halloin Law Group, S.C., licensed in both Wisconsin and Illinois. For more than two decades, Scott has focused his practice on complex construction, construction-related insolvency, and insurance litigation.. Scott is an experienced construction and real estate litigator in Wisconsin. He has logged thousands of hours handling construction, insurance, and real estate related hearings, trials and arbitrations, and has handled hundreds of motions and witness examinations in the field.. Scott was one of the first and is one of a select handful of lawyers in the Midwest to practice in a narrow subset of commercial and residential construction, insurance, and real estate litigation concerning toxigenic mold issues. He has handled mold-related cases extensively since the first significant cases were filed in the late 1990s. Since then, he has dramatically helped shaped the law governing such cases. Scott has become a regular speaker on toxigenic mold issues and related topics of insurance, construction contract, design, and code compliance at legal and construction industry seminars.. Scott also has handled a substantial number of construction-related insolvency issues, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and receivership claims. In particular, he has developed significant experience with priority issues, frequently speaking on and suggesting changes to the governing law.. Irrespective of his extensive trial experience, Scott’s passion long has been legal writing. He strongly believes that a good lawyer should be able to effectively communicate complicated factual and legal matters in an easy-to-understand (and when possible, enjoyable) manner. If you ask Scott about what he is most proud in his professional career, he will respond that it is the large numbers of judges and lawyers who highly have commended Halloin Law Group, S.C.’s brief-writing abilities.
