Location: Indiana Contract reads: "If Employee’s employment with Employer is terminated for any reason before the completion of the respective anniversary year listed above, repayment will occur as follows: I. If Employee works less than six months of the respective anniversary year, Employee shall repay the full installment of $XXXX; or II. If Employee works more than six months but less than one year of the respective anniversary year, Employee shall repay fifty percent of the installment or $XXXX." I put my notice in for my last day to be exactly 365 days, the day before my "anniversary". If I worked my anniversary date, that starts a new year and is 366 days of employment. They are trying to tell me that if I don't change my last day to my actual anniversary date, I will be liable to payback 50%. Thoughts? Yes, it is only one day. But I get the sense they are just trying to control the situation, are angry I am leaving and are just trying to get me to work more days. ----------------------- Side note (more manipulation)- contract states resigning leaving mid-month, the final month hours required will be prorated. Location: Indiana So I am pregnant and my fiancé’s baby mom is constantly making threats towards me it was almost always over the phone till just recently she finally sent one through text. Only issue is it’s to my fiancé and not me. I’m wondering if I can get a protective order on me and my unborn child as her most recent threat was “She lays another hand on my child she probably won't even get to keep the one she's carrying in her stomach.” When she is saying “lays another hand on my child” she is talking about spanking. I have never hit the children in an abusive way I have only disciplined them in the way that their dad has said too. Their dad has full custody legal and physical after their mom got arrested for domestic battery she got out about a month ago on a plea deal. Also she has been telling the children that she will make me regret ever touching them and that she is going to spank my butt. I’m not sure if she actually said either but due to her past behavior and that this came from a 5 year old who I personally don’t believe would just make that up. Just discovering issue now with new employee starting with same contract. Discovered a 401k has existed this entire time and I have been an eligible employee for 2 years. - I have asked for SPD, but have not received it yet - what elements should I be looking for? - applicable 3% match would have been about 9k/yr so essentially 22.5k of lost match money alone. Location: Indiana Hi y'all, I work in a consulting framework, where all of my worked hours are either billed to a particular project, or are considered company overhead. Additionally, my position is considered "Full-time (40 hours per week)". As such, I am expected to be at my desk and available from 8:00 to 5:00. Some weeks, my bosses can't figure out anything for me to do. I have been billing the remainder of my time, it does not fall under any particular project, as company overhead. Well this makes some of the higher-ups unhappy, I'm not responsible for finding projects for myself. It is becoming standard practice that the lower rungs are expected to use their accrued PTO to fill some of the gaps in there when they have no other directive. This feels wrong to me, can we result in the newest employees who do not as consistently have billable work to use the entirety of their accrued PTO nearly every week. I have not yet gotten this in writing, but expect to sometime this week. As I understand it, a company CAN force me to use accrued PTO. This seems to be in relation to annual rollovers, or at least mandating that I take a particular amount every year. Is this a standard or accepted practice? Can it be applied in this circumstance?
